The infamous holding call

I like Brock Purdy. He's a great young QB but you keep dredging up Passer Rating vs Quarter Back Rating. Nearly every stat person out there would agree that QBR is a way better measure of a QBs performance. For the year last year both QBs were actually very close in QBR with Purdy's being slightly higher but not by much.

Nope, sorry. Can't use QBR because benji says its garbage stat...

So, any key injuries for the Clones this week. How do they stack up against this week? Campbell seems to think this team is better than Iowa at almost every offensive skill spot.

Are you guys worried about a let down against Louisiana-Monroe after Game-day/Cy-Hawk hype? Not trolling....I'm glad the Hawks have a bye this week.
Yes and no. I think my expectation is we should blow them out enough to let our "second team" and freshmen see valuable time on the field to get reps. Am I afraid we will lose the game? No. However, anything less than allowing our non starters/freshman to play a good portion of the 4th quarter I will be let down.

Had a chance to watch the 4th down play on DVR. Can't even identify which ref threw his flag. But whoever it was must not have been watching this block at all.

I can see how if all you saw was in your peripheral vision as the Hawk defender went to the ground, he goes down as if he were thrown. If you aren't actually watching that block, then you don't see that our second lineman comes in and knocks the defender down. He was not held and pulled down. He was blocked by two lineman and when the second lineman hit him, it knocked him off balance and he spun to the ground.

If all you see is kind of the last second or two of this defender going to the ground, and especially if you were not specifically and directly watching that block, I can see how you might assume there was a hold.

Sad to think this is how such significant decisions are made, but I see no other explanation. No experienced referee should see that as a penalty if he actually saw the whole play. My two cents.

Yeah, I have no idea where he got that one from.
I was being a smartass regarding the comment that Campbell thought they were better than Iowa at every offensive position. Clones will definitely win but I think it will be a tough spread to cover. They have lost 4 out of the last 5 games following the CyHawk game.

What's up with McDonald? I was expecting to see him coming off the edge a lot and don't remember hearing anything about him being involved. He hurt?

Frustrating to say the least. Oh well

I saw another view of it. The tackle had Jones' arm hooked as they went to the ground. Looks like a tackle from that angle. Maybe he was just trying to hold his hand.
