Well, just hope the forecasts suck again and we will see the opposite. Or a freak snow storm and then we will know we've angered some higher power.
0% change of rain last week when we left. I had unpacked the ponchos....typical
I locked in ULM at +19 1/2. Not sure we can score enough with poor field conditions to cover that many points.
Why don't we have tarps to cover the field? That doesn't seem like it would be THAT expensive. Or does the field drain well enough that they just aren't needed?
Field should be fine as long as it’s not torrentially raining leading right up to or through the game. There isn’t a natural surface alive that can hold up to even 1/2 inch per hour rains while being played on.
It drains pretty quick. I think the only time they cover it is when it cools off and they put the grow tarp on it to retain heat.
Ugh - hoping for good weather. Driving back and taking our kids to their first ISU football game.
Just drove back from Ankeny to Ames. I-35 was dry until I got to the 13th St off ramp. I don't think they got too much by the stadium. I live in North Ames and there is standing water in a few places.
A tarp would impede the draining process. All the water would run off the tarp and cause water to overload the perimeter drainage.
Yeah the rain was here mostly between 12-1pm. I bet the avg was 1/2" with a range of 1/4"-3/4"
Obviously after this past weekend we can no longer trust any forecast ever again, but right now it looks terrible for Saturday. Wind, rain, and lightning most of the day. This s**t is just stupid and ticks me off to no end.
