The infamous holding call

Key difference here is Iowa still managed to get the first down despite the error on the officials. Therefore that missed call didn't have a direct effect on the outcome.

So you're saying Iowa overcame a bad call by making up for it with a good play?

Do you mean this year or an additional year?

Iowa won the game, no asterisk. I do think ISU is the more talented team, just made more mental mistakes. Those things are fixable. Iowa played a clean game, give them credit for that. It should be encouraging we were in that game with as many stupid mistakes as we made.

I beg to differ. That's the one constant you can always expect ISU to do. Lots of mental mistakes which never get fixed.

This isn't whining about a call that made no difference in the game, this call possibly changed the entire outcome. Was this loss 100% on officiating? Of course not, but to say that you're a "biotch" when this call took away a chance to win the game is just wrong.

Do you have a mantel with participation trophies?

ISU’s been doing a better job of overcoming things like this in the last couple of years, but not Saturday. The difference in between 5-7 and 9-3 against our schedule is not that large, and we’re 1-1 in close ones thus far. I’d rather blow one like this against Iowa than against one of the Baylor/OSU/TCU/KSU squad. It helps not living in Iowa.

He was double teamed nearly every play of the game. ISU knows how talented he is that is why they set their blocking scheme up the way they did. Show the damn kid some respect because your team certainly did by double teaming him so often.

We have definite different definition of nearly every. I’m guessing you also thought Miami of Ohio double teamed him more than not? When their LT basically handed him his rear by himself. Epenesa is a very good pass rusher. Will play the roll that KGB did for the packers, if they try to use him every down, he will follow the same path as KGB. People will ask where he went. He needs to return to a pass rush specialist

That isn't what I am saying, but it is correct. That doesn't change or impact my point one bit. Had the stripes called the rather obvious hold on that 3rd down conversion, or even if the pass simply fell incomplete, then that call might of had an impact on the game.

Maybe on run blocks, but that isn't something that is special for him. Combo on the edge is just basics for scheme. On pass plays, Julian was 1v1 most times.

He's hardly been double teamed all year. Lol stop it

I think the intentional grounding was legit and it wasn't a game changing call late in the game. ISU doesn't get that holding call they run out the clock and kick the FG. You're comparing apples to oranges

Funny. He got hit in the arm when throwing. Hard to make that line of scrimmage sometimes when that happens and that wasn't grounding.

So you think he got an intentional grounding because the ball didn't get to the line of scrimmage?
