The infamous holding call

Seems like trashing Epenesa is one of the go-to coping mechanisms after the loss. Kind of pathetic tbh. If he could transfer to ISU and have immediate eligibility he'd be by far your best defensive player. Iowa is lucky to have him for 1 more year before he's in the League.

Eisworth, Rose, Spears and Lima are better college players than him

You acknowledge the phantom intentional grounding? Or do only certain calls / non-calls make a difference?

I think the intentional grounding was legit and it wasn't a game changing call late in the game. ISU doesn't get that holding call they run out the clock and kick the FG. You're comparing apples to oranges

I'll give it till about week 10 when you put an Asterisk on this game.

The only people in the world who think that are ISU fans. Maybe everyone else is wrong and you're right, but I doubt it.

Epenesa will be a better NFL player than anyone in ISU history but there's a reason he wasn't even playing half the snaps last year. He's a specialist

Honestly that was the one thing that I thought maybe I missed, but I seem to remember the trainers running out to him. It was a pretty quick thing though since it was just cramps, so maybe the refs didn't officially count him as injured. If you ever see the replay (I'd rather not watch any of that game again lol) let me know if I was mistaken. Obviously not a huge play but it just seemed to show some of the overall incompetence of the refs.

If any non player attends to the player not during a TO they have to leave the field for the next play.

Iowa won the game, no asterisk. I do think ISU is the more talented team, just made more mental mistakes. Those things are fixable. Iowa played a clean game, give them credit for that. It should be encouraging we were in that game with as many stupid mistakes as we made.

Do you mean this year or an additional year?

Key difference here is Iowa still managed to get the first down despite the error on the officials. Therefore that missed call didn't have a direct effect on the outcome.

I will say I was impressed with how much better the oline looked. The tackles were solid against a good defense, I was really worried after uni.

Both teams had some bad calls, happens nearly every game. Whining about it makes you look like a biotch.

This isn't whining about a call that made no difference in the game, this call possibly changed the entire outcome. Was this loss 100% on officiating? Of course not, but to say that you're a "biotch" when this call took away a chance to win the game is just wrong.
