It is still a Hawkeye State

I more dread losing the game than care about winning. Walked out tonight without saying anything and got trash talked and called names, stay classy Iowa fans, keep classy.

This is what I dread even more than the loss.... going back to work and facing all these Hawk fans for another whole year saying how awesome Iowa is, and what a joke ISU is and always will be. They're just so arrogant.

Definitely not a lot of very classy fans on that side of the rivalry. Never has been. And it only gets worse the more we lose.

An Iowa fan told me about a year ago or so that "you ISU fans are sure starting to get annoying ever since Campbell got there and you started winning a few games.". I just replied .... "can you imagine how annoying and arrogant your fanbase is then? You've been good forever, and have for the most part dominated ISU all these years. If that were reversed, can you just imagine how insufferable us ISU fans woud be then? Well, that's what us ISU fans face everyday. A bunch of loud annoying and arrogant Iowa fans just putting you and your University down every day. And the media for the most part joins in too with little jabs here and there all the time."

That shut him up pretty good. They were actually complaining about our arrogant attititude after a couple good years under CMC, but still not beating Iowa. Can you just imagine how arrogant and annoying we'd be if we had Iowa's success and they had ours instead? I would hope we wouldn't be such jerks to them, but we probably would. But, that's just the reality we all face everyday as ISU fans.

And that's why a 1 pt loss stings so much for us ISU fans. Especially in a game where overall we moved the ball up and down the field and looked like the better team, but just kept shooting ourselves in the foot. Just beyond frustrating.

Thanks for showing everyone exactly the d-baggery we've all become accustomed to from Hawk fans. Just the worst fans in the world.

I've had full beers thrown at me outside of Kinnick, and at Jack Trice I've had Iowa fans yell at my 10 year old son that ISU sucks. Just the best fans in the world right there.

And they wonder why we hope they lose every game.

And it would drastically decrease seeing the amount of d bags like yourself in and around Jack Trice Stadium.

Don't kid yourself, they'd still come to our games. It's amazing how many d-bag Hawk fans in Hawk gear I see in Jack Trice when ISU is playing other teams.... and yes, they stand up and cheer when the other team scores on ISU. Just the worst d-bags ever.

But it's nice they spend their hard earned money to support ISU's athletic department when Iowa isn't even playing ISU.

I'm just so glad I'm not one of them. I'll take the losing over being a total d-bag in life. That's an easy choice for me.

Let's face it that phantom 4th down hold call on Meeker decided the game. Even my Iowa fans were saying ISU looked like the more talented team. Sometimes you catch breaks, sometimes you don't

Wow, you actually have intelligent Hawk friends, huh? Strange.

My Hawk buddies will only say how Iowa kicked our a** all night and ISU sucks.... totally ignorant of the facts as usual.

And on the Meeker holding call, which easily could have decided the game... I've never seen Bruns defend a player as much as he did afterwards like he did for Meeker on that play. He said he'd fight anyone that watches the replay and thinks Meeker held.... it was that bad of a call.

Just remember that Iowa has been decimated by injuries. Bye Week is coming at exact right time. Iowa can't do a lot in defensive scheming because they lost Hooker to early entree, the top 4 DBs are out, and Geno Stone is nowhere near 100% playing.

Iowa D is very much handicapped. Forced to play soft zone in a Base 4-3 when they wanted to go to a 4-2-5 and practiced that way all August. Iowa will generate a great pass rush when they get healthy and can rely on their secondary. Until then can't do much but rush 4 while playing contain

The replay of it if circulating on Twitter and wow I don't know how you could even think that was a hold. Oh well, Iowa won their big game

Not if they both play clean games. ISU made stupid self inflicted mistakes and Iowa did not.

ISU definitely played better overall, but you just can't kill yourself.

Kudos to Iowa for not shooting themselves in the foot and getting some critical calls and no calls at absolutely crucial times in the game.
How the **** are two blown coverages not self inflicted?

Has anyone done a wellness check on 1976 and Twins? As well as on their dogs? Little worried there.

Weird game, per usual. Teams looked pretty evenly matched. Surprised ISU's DL didn't get more heat on Stanley, our OL played solid.

Sounds like you need to find better friends.

You’ve had beers poured on you too just for wearing hawk stuff in jack Trice Stadium?
Yeah anybody "both sidesing" this one is full of ****. I've been to a dozen games at Kinnick. 5 vs ISU and 7 other random games with friends. Not to mention other B12 road games, ISU bowl games and Chiefs,Vikings and Broncos games. There are lots of TOE fans that are great, but the number of douche bag wannabe raider fans that are off the rails against visiting fanbases dwarfs anything I've seen elsewhere save for KC fans toward Denver or Raider fans. My Hawk fan BIL and took our kids to Trice for a CyHawk game and had a great time in 2013. Went to Kinnick in 2014 thinking it would be a fun tradition. That lasted one time as we weren't even out of the first quarter when he said "let's stick to going to the game in Ames from here on out." Took both our kids to Trice in 2015 and 2017 again and they all had a lot of fun, even those decked out on Hawk gear.

Top 4 DBs are out? Stone and Ojemudia are #5 and #6?
