Literally as soon as the news broke about Nixon’s name being in the transfer portal, there was someone on the HR pay board whose sources said it was just a precautionary move and that no decision had been made.

Yup, because Nixon had thought about transferring and didn’t know what he was going to do. Ultimately a few of his closest friends on the team convinced him that he should stick it out at Iowa, and now he looks like a stud at DT. Pretty cool story.
