Let’s be honest though, I’m not sure their own fans care about MN that much. Completely dominated by the pro sports in town.

I think fans of both teams can and do expect our teams to go out and do everything than can to win every week.

That sounds great but that's not my experience.

Correct. But the question was Iowa State win or Big 10 West champs. And since this game means nothing to me, I'm going Big 10. I have pretty much stuck to answering the question.

Most of the reason the answer is Big 10 West champs because beating ISU means nothing for Iowa.

Every fan base has tons of fans that like to bring up reasons why they lost. Whether they be good reasons or bad reasons, your team still lost. It's a way of justifying things. I'm guilty of it too. I hope this year that both teams play well enough and no major injuries happen where neither fan base can use any excuse other than "the other team beat us today."

I will not be upset if Iowa loses to ISU, each team is a good team this year. The better team argument at the end of the year is always fun and tiring though. Will be interesting to see who has the better year after this game and conference slates get going.
