The old “we lost because your team tried harder” Schtick. Pretty weak but that’s all he ever comes up with. Quite the indictment of Campbell’s coaching ability but you gotta blame it on something.
I honestly think Campbell tries to play a Ferentz style game again (unfortunately). That's not a bag on Kirk, it just means Kirk is an accomplished pro style game type of coach.
I hope we air it out a little further and try to push.

It's what Iowa fans lived off as soon as the streak ended.

Oddly that's about when Iowa fans started questioning why the series was even being played.

I think our fan base hopes we don’t go super conservative as well. Honestly have no feel for this game....looks like a defensive struggle but will probably end up 45-42

If Iowa's defensive backfield is that depleted ISU is gonna have a field day passing
Got to have time for receivers to make it down the field without Purdy running for his life every play. The offensive line HAS to protect. If they can do that for the most part, I'm confident Purdy will find people open.

Very, very good. This also did an amazing job remodeling the depot.
I’ll have to try it next time I’m up, usually just hit up Dublin Bay or the Cafe when I go up now. I used to like Battles, but they were really inconsistent IMO. Hickory Park, well, I won’t say because I know it’s a big deal there, but just not my thing. Flying Mango is pretty good down here, as is Smokey Ds, but I think both are a little overhyped.

You think CyHawk week gets intense?

Because now you're going to see some real **** go down as you've turned this into a Hickory Park debate thread.

Would I save myself if I referenced what a value it is? Always nice to have a take home box for $6.50.

Seriously though, it’s a great place for get togethers, birthdays, etc. But if you’re looking for a great dining experience.... the Saucy Southerner might not be the ticket. Especially when Dublin is 3 blocks away.

I would equate Cornbred to the Cafe in the world of BBQ. A little upscale but worth it IMO.
I think Kued is best in metro.

You sure you're not an ISU fan?

This is like the perfect response for when a thread goes down that rabbit hole.

Well, since we're a day out here's my no spin outlook on the game.

I think both teams are going to have a hard time running the football. They'll both have to plug away at it as to not be one dimensional but I just don't see a whole lot of success there.

It basically comes down to the QB's making plays. What makes me optimistic for Iowa's chances is the last time we saw the Hawks against a very good D, Outback, Nate was able to make enough plays to win the game. Zero running game and under duress most of the game....he took care of ball and made plays.

What "scares" me about ISU is Purdy's ability to buy time with his feet.....if he can do that he can take advantage of a depleted Iowa secondary. I also wouldn't be shocked if he ends up being ISU's leading rusher. Didn't show much against UNI but I could see him runnin more in the RPO and maybea couple long scramble opportunities.

It'll be intersting for sure...for the Hawks I think we need a fast start as the crowd will be nuts. If we get behind early it will get extremely tough.

Final preduiction 24-23 Hawks.

I think I'm leaning toward Iowa by 10ish but the gap will be late like last year.

ISU's lack of real progress on the Oline will be evident.

Might be different if ISU can get over the top and to the outside.

I'll be pretty pissed if ISU tries to matchup like last year vs. exploiting mismatches or at least tendencies.

Cornbred (no a in the name) is fantastic. Not the cheapest BBQ joint but definitely has great food and service. They have some "high end" BBQ dishes that are really good. I've had a number of things there, all good and left impressed each time. I'm a person that hates mustard but their tangy mustard bbq sauce is amazing.

I'm generally not a huge fan of pineapple, but their slaw with the pineapple in it is amazing.

My final prediction is 24-20 ISU. I hope I'm wrong. Either way, I think it is going to be a close game.

The key for Iowa is as always, can they run the ball and will the DL be able to put pressure on Purdy but still keep him contained. If Purdy gets outside the pocket they can't allow him to run for 10 yards. They need to force him to throw it away or get him tackled before he gets too far down the field.

My thoughts/predictions on the game:

ISM will make a difference in the return game and as a WR. I think he takes one kickoff return all the way back and then adds a TD reception as well.

Iowa will struggle to run the ball in the 1st half but put up over 75 yards on the ground and average at least 4.5 yards per carry in the second half.

Kene will be the back that has the most success for ISU on the ground.

A TE for ISU will have the most receptions on the day for the Clones.

Iowa and ISU will each turn the ball over one time. Purdy will throw a pick to a LB, likely from a ball deflected at the line. One of the Iowa' RB's will put the ball on the ground and ISU will recover.

Epenesa gets 1.5 sacks.

Iowa wins 27-16.
