Iowa and Iowa State each have one rival for football and that's it. I know they claim Minnesota and Kansas State are rivals but they're really not

Not trying to troll, even though its probably trolling, but what exactly does ISU bring to the table in this game? To answer the original question. Every scenario I would rather win the Big Ten West! The Big 12 hasn't been a factor recently. Iowa State has never played a football game in January. Playing a school from a state that Iowa recruits from would help the program WAY more.

Born, raised, and still live miles from MN. Do work there 1/3 of my time. They don’t care about Iowa. They find them to be annoying more than anything else. Wisconsin is their rival. They also consider Michigan one which is kinda weird.

Wisconsin has undoubtedly been a better program than Iowa State, so I can see why Iowa fans would see that game as more appealing, but the Iowa State game is more of a rival in almost every other facet.

I don’t really think Wisconsin even considers them a rival. The have only lost once to Iowa in the last decade.

The random “Who Hates Iowa” chants at concerts and random sporting events say otherwise.

Let’s be honest though, I’m not sure their own fans care about MN that much. Completely dominated by the pro sports in town.
