There were Hawkeye fans that legitimately wanted the Rose Bowl in 2015 over the playoffs. Likely the same fans that thought the NIT final four was better than making the tourney and winning one game.
The only thing people around the nation remember is how Iowa got Antonio Browned at the Rose bowl. That and the thousands of black and gold surrender cobras that day.
I was there and it wasn’t pretty. Well the game wasn’t pretty, the rose bowl itself is amazing. One thing I want to see before I die is a rose bowl victory. I’m 0-4 in my lifetime so far. Starting to question if it will ever happen. The orange bowl win was fantastic, but I want the rose bowl.
Is that why so many Iowa fans flock to Ames?
They shows up for Wisky games I know, but not like the game in Ames.
As much as Wisconsin is aware of Iowa being their rival.

So, to be fair......the "environment" is what makes the super bowl......a super bowl. So let's put aside all the BS that only ISU players, coaches and fans really give a damn. That saying is how Hawkeye fans self medicate failure after the beer wears off.
