Or it might have more to do with the fact that Colbert started last year as a freshman and was very good, whereas Vance has played sparingly thus far.

Vance was suppose to play last year in front of Mike Rose, Marcel Spears, and Willie Harvey?

So its the most accurate at the end of the season when Iowa was 9-4 and Miss St was 8-5, and rated Mississippi St better.
Or Iowa also being 22 spots higher than 9-5 NW.

Yes. Mississippi State probably was better than Iowa was last year. Iowa was lucky to win that game.

And NW kept winning by smoke and mirrors - they were outgained by opponents by an average of 35 yards per game last season, which is more in line with a 4-8 team than a 9-5 team. I’m honestly still not sure how Northwestern won 9 games last year, but I don’t think they were that good. (For reference, Iowa outgained opponents by 80 ypg and Iowa State outgained opponents by 22 ypg). Pat Fitzgerald is a wizard.

Not really. Iowa outgained UNI by over 300 yards last year. That’s kind of what you’re supposed to do against FCS teams.

We moved the ball easily, we just couldn't figure out how to score, which obviously has to be fixed.
