All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

So you feel that the graph is just a coincidence?

Do you think UNI has a better defense than most of the Big 12?
No I think that UNI is a fundamentally sound football team on defense and still gave up 471 yards to our offense. We just couldn't capitalize for a variety of reasons, which kept the game close.

So I didn't get a chance to watch the ISU/UNI game, but it seems I missed a hell of a game. I did see Purdy recover that fumble in a highlight video. That was a great play by him. It seemed UNI was going to get that fumble until Purdy dove in there. Again, great play.

As far as the game goes. Yes, ISU must have struggled against a lesser opponent. I've seen Iowa do it multiple times too. But they still won the game and that is whats really important. They can still go on and beat Iowa and have a good season.

I watched all of the Iowa game and it went about how I thought it would for the most part. Iowa's running game looked good. Stanley was pretty solid and he seemed to move a little faster out there. He did miss on a couple of throws, but he also threw some really nice fade routes hitting Oliver Martin for a TD, Smith for a TD and what should have been a TD to Tracey, but he dropped it. Defense was solid as well, but have concerns about he DL depth, a safety spot and the corner opposite of Ojemudia.

Still think 8-4 or 7-5 is most likely at this point.

Every single one of Stanley's TD's were single coverage fade routes (great throws) on quick three step drop backs.

More 8-4.

First TD was a single coverage fade route to Smith. 2nd TD was a single coverage fade route to Martin. I was indeed wrong though, as the third TD came on a 6 yard tunnel screen to #6 who is Tracy? Stanley made good TD throws but let's not act like all three of those passes weren't pre-determined. Fade routes are predetermined at the line of scrimmage, and the the screen was a predetermined throw from the beginning.

I was with a buddy who's an Iowa fan that wanted to watch it and I have multiple TV's playing multiple games, so it wasn't the only game I was watching at the time lol. The Oregon vs. Auburn game was more enjoyable to watch.

I only caught the 2nd half and OT's of the ISU game but it looked like all of Purdy's completions during that portion of the game were predetermined.

I'm not going to sit here and say Purdy made a ton of hard throws because he didn't. He made a few of them and also missed a couple as well. But UNI was allowing us to get 6-7 yards on almost every pass play because they were absolutely not going to let us go deep. We took what they were giving us and were constantly moving the ball on them. Our problem came on 3rd and short situations where we'd get cute or someone would miss an assignment.

Reading Rutgers forums and I see Iowa completely rolling them. Porous defense undersized up front.

While I hope you are correct and I think Iowa should be able to rack up yards on the ground, I feel they have a capable QB that could maybe make the game close.
