All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Hearing he shows some flashes of being really good in practice, but still struggles with consistency. Just a sophomore, but hopefully he starts to click. He's going to have really talented competition around him at his position.

If Wirfs and Jackson both leave he's supposed to be next in line right?

Ah yes, Iowa has never had a close game with UNI, ever.

After re-watching the Iowa game, I came away super impressed with Iowa’s OL. Wirfs and Linderbaum are studs, but I was equally impressed with Kyler Schott. He was mauling dudes in the run game. If Banwart and Jackson can come back healthy, Iowa’s OL is going to be really, really good. Wieting is a helluva blocker for a TE too.

Yeahbuddy, did you rewatch the spring game again to? You lead a pretty pathetic life if you have to rewatch the game and provide your in-depth post game rewatch analysis. What a loser life you lead!!

Through Week 1:

Passing Efficiency- Big edge Stanley
Pass TD- Stanley (even though Purdy got 3 extra possessions that started just outside of the red zone)
Rushing Yards- Stanley
More Turnovers- Purdy
Passing Yards- Slight edge Purdy (although he got 3 extra possessions after regulation)
Completion %- Purdy

Are you concerned about Purdy's regression or is this just coincidence?

He was 30-41 (73%), 278 yards, and 2 TD's. If that's one of his worst games, you can't be concerned. If one of Stanley's worst games was exactly that, you wouldn't be concerned either.

Dang dude, that right there answers the argument. Stanley is better at nearly everything (including rushing).

Serious question, are you not concerned that he had zero completions downfield, and only attempted a couple? His yardage numbers are nice but easily 90+% of those yards were courtesy of the receiver after catching a 3 yard route (or less). And I'd hope his completion % would be solid if he's throwing nothing but quick screens to wide open guys in the flat.

And that doesnt even take into account the type of throws each QB was asked to make.

Purdy was just dinking and dunking all game while Stanley was aggressively driving the ball down the field.

It almost looked like the ISU coaches were trying to not let Purdy fail and he had predetermined throws for the most part.

So you feel that the graph is just a coincidence?

Do you think UNI has a better defense than most of the Big 12?

UNI was playing their corners 8-10 yards off of the WR's, with 3 safeties playing over the top. I'm happy Brock wasn't throwing the ball into double / triple coverage. Every single one of Stanley's TD's were single coverage fade routes (great throws) on quick three step drop backs. He was taking what Miami OH was giving him, as was Purdy with UNI.
