It's the first week of the month. It's the first bye week of the season. It's the Mid-Week Mailbag.

Get your questions in now!

1. Is the football program done? Should we just burn it down and start a baseball team with the extra schollies and money?

2. Early pick of the winner of CF All Stars Fantasy Football League?

Has your opinion of the timing of this bye week changed? I know prior to the season, I felt like it would have been better to play a couple of games and then have the bye before the Big 12 slate begins. However, after Week 1, I think I'm glad that it falls where it does.

We look like a bigger, slower team all around compared to last season. Mike Rose and Deshaunte Jones really stuck out to me in this regard. I don’t like this and I think it’s going to be a mistake going forward.

Prove me wrong.

At what point does Iowa State stop running a "vanilla" gameplan against our first opponent to avoid giving tape to Iowa? Would it be a better strategy to get game speed reps for a larger portion of the potential playbook to secure "elite" execution?

Since we didn't crush UNI, Purdy didn't throw the balls over some mountains, didn't run for 1000 yards in one game, each play wasn't a touchdown, and we won but we didn't win win. I am assuming the football season is now cancelled. Given that, what was your biggest surprise from the basketball teams trip to Europe?

How many games into the season will Montgomery and Butler stop being talking points for a team they no longer play for?

How is Brandon feeling about his bold predictions? Still early... but we have week 1 in the books. Would be fun to hear if there is any change of heart on Kansas or what happened to Houston.

Last year's tallest receiver, Butler. was 6'5". This year's tallest starting receiver, Pettway, is 6'2". That's 3 inches smaller. That makes the team smaller and slower.
