Oliver Martin Derangement Syndrome

So much BS in one post. So much talk about Iowa fans you know nothing about. If eligible, he won’t even start. He will play but be in a rotation. Sure fans are talking about it but no mine says he’s some kind of messiah.

You haven't been paying much attention to all the praise he's been getting from the eastern Iowa media then. I've heard numerous times over the past week how he'd be an immediate starter, and probably their #1 WR if ruled eligible. Same stuff from the Iowa fans I work with too.

They are counting on him being a huge contributor and difference maker. It's been all over the news and radio. A LOT of expectations for him to live up to. Probably impossible to live up to actually.

If this is coming from the media, can you provide evidence of this?

Tweets, FB posts or links to these stories/video segments/talk show segments would all be acceptable.

Thanks!

He had like 10 catches in two years at Michigan and they didn't have all conference guys in front of him. I stand by what I said
l

You stand by your claim that "he couldn't see the field" even though you just gave his stats?

Jacob Park. Wasn’t that long ago actually. The fans and coaches turned on him.

Wow. There are a lot of insecure stupid hawk fans on here. You seem to be trying for the championship.

That’s not a good thing. You should feel bad for being as ******* stupid as benj and dognuts and Jeff reninga

There are a lot of different theories being floated around about what is taking so long....the ones that I can remember:

1- Paperwork was submitted much later than what was originally stated
2- NCAA denied it and Iowa appealed
3- NCAA approved and UM/Harbaugh threw a fit and provided more info for them to review
4- NCAA has approved but the B1G also needs to approve and that is still pending

Why would the B1G have to approve this? Shouldn't NCAA be top approval?

Looks like option 4 was the winner.

"The final word came Wednesday morning from the Big Ten Conference, five days after initial approval came from the NCAA, according to a source with direct knowledge of the process."

"Because Martin transferred within the Big Ten (he spent two seasons at Michigan), he also needed conference approval. Iowa filed that paperwork this week and got the response it wanted."

Very cool news. Really interesting that a guy that was able to get some good playing time as an underclassman at a talent rich place like The University of Michigan and was slated to be a starter this season by their coach is likely coming off the bench here. Have to believe he will be making a strong push for a starting position later in the season with that much talent.

About time they made a decision, seemed like it was a slam dunk decision from the beginning though. But better late than never. Kid deserves to play three more years and glad he will be able to do so.

Our baby brothers over on Hokeye Pokey Forum are all up in arms over the rumors of Oliver Martin leaving Michigan and transferring to the hoks. Apparently this isn't quite correct.

Talked with his dad over the weekend: Facts
He loves Michigan.
He's not ever leaving.
If he did, ISU would be his lean more then Iowa.
His field efforts do not out weigh his degree efforts.

Iowa's lack of WR involvement hurt and is still hurting with the newest recruits.

Just to revisit this outlandish thread starter. Unreal how this blew up in his face.

Is this the kid that transferred from Michigan because He was not going to see the field or am I thinking of someone else?
