Hawk fans gonna turn on Stanley

Just to make a comment on the OP:

if ISU gets frequent pressure on Stanley (and they surely could), then it's very likely he takes some sacks and throws some picks. Even if he throws a couple TDs too when they hold up against the rush. Then yeah, you better believe that Hox fans will turn on him in a heartbeat. He will take 98% of the blame for a loss in that case, and it will throw the fanbase in turmoil.

If Stanley has a bad game against us, I can bet a lot of Iowa fans will throw him under the bus.

Well he technically didn't start that game.. That would've been Beathard. So he's 0-2 in his career against them too.

Technically, as good as he is supposed to be according to the trolls on here, he should have come in and won that game for them.

If I remember correctly, Purdy didn't start the OSU game last year. How did that turn out?

Just sayin'.....

Stanley should have come in and won a game that Beathard started and Iowa won against Purdue in 2016?

Expectations are getting out of control for Stanley around here.

I think we're on the same side here.. Stanley has only truly played Purdue twice in his career: 2017 and 2018. In 2016 he came in towards the end of the game for a few drives as Iowa was handling Purdue.

For every tough team Stanley has had to play there is a Minnesota,Illinois, Nebraska, etc to help offset. It's actually pretty crazy how few middle of the pack to above average teams Stanley has faced in conference.
You do realize, as bad as Minnesota's and Nebraska's defenses were last year, they were better than a majority of the Big 12, right?

So you're using SOS to justify his low passing efficiency, fumbling issues, etc?

I'm not using anything to justify anyone. I've said Stanley is good (my opinion) not great, not even really good. Career completion % under 60% is just not good enough to be considered really good.

The question was Iowa plays ****** schedules. 2018 schedule was not all that tough, 2017 was.

I mean Minnesota's and Nebraska's defense was ranked higher than Oklahoma's, yet Oklahoma would've put up 60 on both of their defenses and won by 35.

Oh I completely agree, which is why I think some Iowa fans think he's amazing, while some Iowa fans think he's just okay. Throwing for 41 yards against Wisconsin should completely outweigh throwing for 400 against Indiana. And I'm not sitting here saying he sucks, because he doesn't. He just hasn't shown he can be consistent throughout an entire year.

I can agree with this. He can be great and he can suck. He isn't consistent and that has been his problem.

And it's not like he throws tons of interceptions or tries to fit balls into places he can't put them, it's just that he's inaccurate in a lot of games. He has some games where it seems like he can't miss and then he'll have games where every ball is at the feet or over a WR's head.
