Why would the B1G have to approve this? Shouldn't NCAA be top approval?
Not sure, just one of the reasons I have seen floated out there on why the delay.

I'm not well versed in the transfer rules, but at the time, I believe intra-conference grad transfers still required school approval just like non-graduate conference transfers.Didnt Ruddock grad transfer? If so Ferentz couldn't block him from going anywhere.
It'd be interesting if Harbaugh threw a fit.. Didn't he come out and say and positively comment about Oliver and his decision?
At this point I think KF is playing coy- Martin will sit the first two weeks, and Iowa will unexpectedly spring Martin on Iowa State in week three for 300 yards and 6 TD’s.
Ah yes, the Cordel Pensel tactic. Let’s just hope Martin doesn’t end up with multiple stab wounds from the ISU student section like Premsel did.
At least he sounds like he is healthy.
R.I.P. in peace

That's a thing of the past with the new transfer portal. They aren't allowed to restrict anymore. Most conferences still have rules about transferring to teams within the conference.
All I know is that there will be a TON of pressure on Oliver once it's announced he's allowed to play this year.
Iowa fans over the last few weeks have already crowned him as their savior, their MVP, and basically the best college football player on the planet.
On KGYM 1600 tonight in CR, their 4 o'clock show started off with nonstop Oliver Martin talk for the first 20-30 minutes. Some listeners were even messaging in that they should talk about something else, but the lead announcer slammed them and said it's basically the biggest story in the state, so they were going to talk about it a LOT.
I'd hate to be Oliver right now. Anything short of a heroic season and they'll be booing him off the field in Kinnick. They're counting on him to be Mr. Everything and more. Basically all the reasons he left IC to begin with I believe.... to get away from all the pressure.

So much BS in one post. So much talk about Iowa fans you know nothing about. If eligible, he won’t even start. He will play but be in a rotation. Sure fans are talking about it but no mine says he’s some kind of messiah.
I'd be surprised if he had over 300 yards receiving. There's a reason he couldn't see the field at a previous Big Ten school and why nobody reached out to him when he entered the portal

It's your claim that he didn't see any action last year? You might want to be more precise with your words.
And to claim nobody reached out to him in the portal is disingenuous at best. If no team did, that's likely because it was obvious where he was going.
