Hawk fans gonna turn on Stanley

I’ve been a fan of Iowa athletics since the early 80's and have never been into MBB, especially now. It’s sleazy and nasty. It’s pretty much guaranteed that every program has at least some rot to it. To each their own.

This has to be the absolute worst rationalization I've ever heard. You've come to the conclusion that Fran's program is a steaming pile of dung, so you rationalize its worthlessness by hiding behind some sort of "I'm better than this" excuse?

Hey...getting off track here. This is about Stanley and the potential (errrr, likelihood) of Hawk fans becoming triggered due to performance issues.

The players you were referring to were suspended and had to perform community service. He didn't say a word about what Campbell was doing... You have such a hard on for him that you make these stories up in your head.

I think Wirfs would have been better suited getting some type of treatment instead of doing community service

backup kicker. Pudgy Asian guy next to me practically went down on the field to spit in his face.

This is what you got upset about?

Q. The four guys that were suspended, you mentioned you might have them doing something different this week. What was kind of the -- what did you have them doing instead of playing in the game?

KIRK FERENTZ: This past week? They did community service work. It's a pretty standard rule we have. They got four hours in on Friday and eight more on Saturday and missed the game. But they're in mind and spirit, and they came back Sunday and we've welcomed them back, and they're all doing a good job. Really happy with the way they've handled it. Obviously wish they hadn't been in that situation, but I think they've handled it the way we would hope, and what's most important now is they continue to do that, and I expect that from all four guys. I think they've got a great attitude.

Yeah they didn't do community service during the game. That's just a lie

Dudes looking pretty fit. Hopefully he can have another good season. It's weird to realize that unless he gets hurt he'll probably be #2 on Iowa's all-time passing TDs list, or with another 23+ TD season (has had two 26 seasons already) would pass Long for #1.

Its kind of laughable considering the physique I am imagining for all the guys on here that are taking shots at Stanley's weight.

Middle aged dad bods with cargo shorts is what I am envisioning.

Meh, I'll give them a pass. 90% of message board posters never played past middle school football and don't know what a flack jacket is. And Nate does have a pudgy babyface if we're being honest. All I know, is the dude can throw TDs. A lot of them.

So shocking Kirk lied

"Tristan Wirfs spent the season-opening Iowa football game the way many fans did — watching on TV with a neighbor while eating bratwurst."

This makes no sense. I’m not rationalizing anything. I’m saying MBB is corrupt and not worth watching. I do watch women’s basketball. I very occasionally watch Iowa basketball but not often.

The Iowa program is a middle of the pack team. Maybe at the bottom of the middle, but middle third. While I have no proof, I think every, or nearly every college program is dirty. The AAU system that feeds it is absolutely dirty. I refuse invest time or money rooting for that system.

WBB doesn’t have either the corruption or sleaze of the MBB system. I enjoy watching them play. Has nothing to do with the recent success of the Iowa women. I’ll root just as hard this year even though they’ll take a step back.

FB has dirty elements to it, and I’m sure there are programs cheating, maybe even Iowa, but there’s not the systemic sleaze.

They claim a legitimate national title trophy, how dare they.
LSU went 11-0 and Iowa went 8-1-1. Iowa finished 2nd in the AP poll and another publication gave them a trophy. The NCAA actually acknowledges UCF as co-champions with Alabama in 2017.. do you agree with that too?
