Who gets the first Touchdown for ISU 2019

Sorry, had to dislike. Launch the endzone fade into the sun.

It's a low percentage play, but I think you have to go to it once or twice a game to keep defenses honest. I think in 2017 it offered us our best red zone matchup when our tight ends and o-line weren't ready. Hopefully we continue to have plenty of options in red zone.

We also have 4 guys that are 6'5" and above that can be used on that play this year. Kolar, Allen, Soehner, and Shaw.

Throw in Pettway, who's built like a linebacker and likely gets matched up with a 190 lb corner. Wilson is also 6'3", and just got moved to the Z.

We certainly have some big and tall receivers that is for sure. They should compliment Jones and Milton extremely well.

All good points. I suppose your right that it would help to stretch the field some if used occasionally and we do have some big dudes to throw to this year. Don't get me wrong... I'll take the TD if the play happens to work!

When you have a huge 1 vs. 1 mismatch, you have to take at least one shot. It's a play that's practiced over and over again between the QB's and the WR's / TE's.

That definitely makes sense. Obvs we're in a new era with Campbell/Manning but I guess I'm a bit burned by it being the "go-to" play in the past and watching it fail over and over and over.

I think you might not be remembering the good plays, because there were quite a few jump balls to Butler and Kolar last year that were successful. Eaton also had a couple as well.

The last game against UNI, the defense scored the first 2 TDs. Our offense will be predictable and vanilla. I'd love to see a blocked punt or punt return TD - seems like forever since we've done that. I predict a RPO TD by Brock after a UNI turnover in their own territory.

I believe the last punt return for a TD was 2 years ago against Kansas. Trevor Ryan took it back like 55 yards and there was quite the blind side block by one of our special teams guys.
