Really bragging about squeaking by a team from the Pioneer League that cant offer scholarships to football players?
I get it though, without that win ISU wouldnt have had just their 10th season in program history with at least 8 wins.
I mean, is Illinois any better than Drake? We know Kansas is 6 TD's better than Rutgers and they are awful.
You know Iowa fans are really back pedaling when they bring up the Drake game...

Iowa finished the season with a better record
Iowa finished ranked in the AP Poll, ISU didnt.
Iowa finished much higher in Sagarin than ISU.
Of course we have to move the conversation to Drake when an exhibition basketball game from almost 4 years ago is brought up.
According to Sagarin, Illinois was 101 spots better than Drake last season.
"Those teams all played each other, lost to the opponent, and were only separated by 1 win."
None of those points have anything to do with an Illinois/Drake comparison because none of them apply to those 2 teams.
The benefit of Sagarin, such that it is, is that it doesn’t allow the results of one game to overtake the results of the entire season. I will be the first to admit that the system has its flaws

I think Drake was clearly a fluke. If not, we wouldn’t have won 7 of our last 8 games of the season and wouldn’t have gone toe to toe with an 11-2 Washington State. If you don’t think it was a fluke then good for you. I think it’s kinda hilarious the number of Hawk fans that are so obsessed over that game.
You guys ascribing W-L to a QB is about as bad (well, actually much worse) than doing the same to a pitcher in baseball. Heck of a lot more going on with a game.
