Iowa Football Recruiting

"Let's wait until Epenesa is a starter."

QB is a position that has so many variables to whether a player can be “great” or not. DE isn’t the same.

QB is of course a much more valuable position as well. I’m not saying Purdy is a bad player, an average player or any of the sort. He’s a good player but I’m not ready to say great. Epenesa is a great college football player.

Thanks Lombardi

I wish there was an award given out for most outstanding OL unit in the country each year...

Well, there is - indirectly. 99% of the time, a team with an outstanding OL, THE outstanding OL, gets recognition playing in a spotlight bowl game/CFP.

Only the hoks could have THE best line in CFB and not perform well enough to have it noticed.

Epenesa and Purdy are the only two top 50 college football players this state has. They're both great

It is reasonable to think that perhaps Purdy snuck up on some teams last year. We will see. He’s a very promising quarterback.
Not sure why folks disagree w you on this. Fair question. More fair it is a ga,e or two but still valid question.

The reality is he benefited from having butler and Eaton.

But the attitude he played with is one of a winner. And a great player.

He could have totally shrunk against West Virginia, tech, Washington State, when he made mistakes. He didn’t. He shook it off, and went to the next play. And he had special moments in each of those games. Texas sent the house at him, and he didn’t back down.

He’s a player.

I have a Oliver Martin? What exactly is he using for a waiver excuse?

Your OC changing isn’t really a waiver excuse.. not only that but the new OC is implementing a more pass heavy offense.. lol.

OC is the only thing I've heard. I'm sure they can use another angle but I'm not going to speculate since I heard it was just the OC thing for sure

To small of a sample size to say Espinosa is great.

That's one way to wave the white flag
What flag am I waiving? Because I said Purdy was a surprise. I know that is shocking. Nobody pegged him as a starter-not even the head coach. He certainly was a surprise to many including the fan base. But carry on with your ********. Not sure why this is a fight you want to have but I am game.

Still didn't answer the question.
