All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Love our stable of backs. Sargent's a beast. Sounds like the freshmen Goodson and Byrd are impressing as well.
Sargent could definitely be really good in the next two years but let's not act like he was unreal or anything last year. He has some promise, but his numbers weren't much better than Toren Young's and I wouldn't call Young a beast by any means.

Nah, I'm calling him a beast.

Well Sargent performed at about the same clip as Montgomery last year, was actually better catching the ball out of the backfield, and I'd definitely call Montgomery a beast.
That's absolutely asinine that you think just because they had the exact same ypc, they performed at the same clip. Montgomery was a premier back in the NCAA last year and was called the best back in all of CFB by numerous people. Sargent had a 5x better offensive line than Montgomery as well. Take your blinders off.

You're getting awfully worked up.

So why the optimism for the ISU OL this season?

Not directed at you only but this comment makes me wonder where its all coming from because the Iowa OL struggled to run block last season.

Remember when you said you were happy ISU got Shayok because they had to use two years worth of a scholarship on him?

I would think that the optimism comes from the fact that all those guys come back and have had the entire off-season to fine tune their mistakes and continue to get better. There wasn't a complete overhaul with new guys coming in, which I think would have been more concerning than everyone coming back. There were some games where our O-line did a very good job, and I think having Purdy back there with his mobility helped with him taking hits / sacks.

I said DM was a beast. As is Mekhi.
There is a very large gap between David and Mekhi. You also have another guy on here that's saying another back on Iowa might be better than him and Young wasn't unreal either. Both guys had solid years last year but neither did anything spectacular. I'm not saying they won't do anything spectacular this next year, I'm simply saying the backs for Iowa last year were not elite.

Toren is a bruiser for sure. He and Mekhi going to be beasts. Then IKM brings a nice change up.
