Iowa Football Recruiting

I want to make sure I have this right. First Campbell told the kid he had a scholarship and then told him to walk on or wait a semester but Brain F was being mean and unfair when he called that out?

Ok

The problem with Brian's comments is that they were incorrect, meaning not the truth. Maybe if he wasn't so dramatic, it would have went right on by, but nope. He just had to be a tool about it and then be a proven hypocrite nearly immediately with the Eno Benjamin stuff.

The Eno Benjamin thing occurred because former assistant coaches lied to KF about Eno’s visits and what they told the kid. It is why those coaches are no longer at Iowa.

Had Eno done as Jacobs did last year and been up front with KF ahead of the visits then there probably wouldn’t have been an issue.

And who was responsible for hiring said coaches? I'll hang up and take my answer off air.

Probably isn't a certainty. Just be honest, KF's old school approach is outdated and Brian was just trying to stick up for daddy. The whole thing wreaks of insecurity.

KF was responsible for it. Are you saying it is his fault that the assistant coaches lied to him? Are you saying he should have been clairvoyant in knowing that they were going to lie?

Say that out loud and see if it still makes sense.

Just because this is what you want it to be doesn’t mean it is true.

Iowa only wants kids that fit the Iowa culture and program. They make that very clear from the beginning. Those that show they won’t be a fit don’t make it. What is there to be insecure about when someone lays out clear expectations and then follows through on the consequences of not meeting those expectations?

I don’t think the Iowa letter says perform “athletically” it does reference academics and citizenship though.

You just can't help but assert that Eno was at fault. If Iowa fans hadn't trashed him so bad he might still be there, even after everything that happened with the assistants.

Yes, I'm sure it is too much for your limited intellect, but good managers properly screen the people they hire. That makes perfect sense.

Sure managers screen people as did KF. Are you saying there is some magical screening tool or process that would have identified up front when someone was going to lie to you in the future? I would love to see this if it actually existed. Especially if it is 100% correct 100% of the time in perpetuity.

Ferentz and Iowa recruited a committed player to decommit only to refuse to except his commitment this year. That is as underhanded as it gets.
