Iowa Football Recruiting

Wonder why ISU didn't offer him Benji

I think he would have been kind of a tweener for our defense. Doesn’t have the speed to play OLB for us and they probably didn’t feel his frame could add the bulk to be an MLB like Flansburg, Zenzen, and Rose.

In no way, shape, or form is Iowa's class "far superior" to ISU's class. They're very, very similar from both a rank and composite perspective. Iowa/ISU: #22/32 and .8578/.8531. And Iowa has 4 more commits.

I do apologize for debunking your nonsense claim with facts.

Per 247:
Iowa has 13 players rated 86 or better per 247 composite. ISU only has 6.

Iowa has 4 players recently ranked in the top 247. ISU has 1.

Per ESPN:
Iowa has four 4 stars and 3 more 79s.
ISU has two four stars and one 78.

You're not doing a good job debunking. Your bias is showing because the rating agencies tell a different story.

I also don't think you understand basic math. Iowa's team average is brought down by taking low profile recruits in Deasfernandes and Higgins. If Iowa didn't take those two then the team average is much higher. That's how much sense that makes.

If you assess the quantity of high profile guys as I demonstrated above you'll see that Iowa has far better and a greater quantity of top tier talent in this class.

ISU has such a storied history of producing NFL linebackers that I'm sure they know more than Iowa, Nebraska and the ratings agencies.

If you weren’t incapable of intelligent thought you could have maybe gathered that all 3 teams play different types of defenses, thus look for different things in players. But that is probably asking a little much of you.

They do play different defenses alright. Nebraska doesn't at all, ISU around 33rd and Iowa 7th.

Iowa also has two position players with a 2 star rating below .80, where as ISU's only "2 star" is one of the nations best specialized skill players. per 24/7

Your point? Iowa also has far more higher rated guys. I don't mind taking a few shots on lower profile guys when filling out the class, especially DB. Parker is one of the top DB coaches in the country. He just had a Thorpe winner and finalist back to back who were a 2 star and low 3 star.

I'll trust his evaluation of Deasfernandes, who was playing behind two four star prospects last season.

Tells me that I don't understand basic math, then proceeds to fail understanding how averages work. Yes, Iowa has a few guys ranked higher than ISU, but that doesn't automatically mean that Iowa's class is next level. Sorry, but no one here is at all impressed with Iowa's class, nor should they be. No doubt it's good, but it won't be top 30 (probably not even top 35) when all is said and done. You coming here to tell us how awesome your class is, is moreso a sign of your insecurity because our class, with a fourth year head coach, is nipping at the heels of Iowa's class. Again, figure out how averages work and then maybe you'll understand why what you're blabbing about is nonsense.

LOL @ a few guys ranked higher? Look at 247's own rankings for those rated 87 or better.

Iowa:
Jones 94
Elsbury 91
Lachey 91
Richman 90
Black 88
Volk 88
Williams 88
Yelverton 87
Hurkett 87
Bruce 87

ISU:
Dekkers 90
Jackson 88
Pauls 87
Williams 87
Rengert 87

You have a ways to go to be nipping at our heels. Your best recruit wouldn't be there if Iowa wanted him.

??? 247 only has Jones rated .91 and seems like your rounding up a few spots for a few guys. https://247sports.com/college/iowa/Season/2020-Football/Commits/ all ready caught lying on what your 5th profile on here?

Parker is not one if the top DB coaches in the country. He single handedly lost you the Purdue game last year

Hawk fans, you need to explain averages to your boy because it's clearly a tough subject for this one.
