Dex, you go from a horrible political post on Steve King and now you need things weird and freaky. How many times were you dropped on your head as a kid? Almost like you have a split personality going on here lately. Do we need to get welfare check done on you?

Nope, I’m fine. Always been a little weird.

Oh...about being dropped on the head. Pretty sure that’s true but my mom denies it.

From $22.3M down to isu’s level? Doubt it.
FWIW, both U of I and UNI decreased in football and men's basketball revenue while Iowa State increased in revenue this past year in both sports. Iowa State is also the only university that is suppose to see an increase in revenue for football and men's basketball this upcoming year while the other two schools are suppose to see another decline.

I would still rather have Iowa's declining number than ISU's increasing number for next year.

Total number looks good. Negative revenue compared to a positive doesn't. Doesn't necessarily mean Iowa's football program is going down because it isn't but more shows that Iowa State's football is going up. A lot of the decrease in revenue for Iowa has to do with the conference schedule. This isn't Iowa's fault at all but the numbers show that people aren't wanting to come watch one good conference game every year. Nebraska getting better helps with that.

Will there honestly be that much separation between the two athletic depts success though? I could see football being close, say basketball and wrestling are flipped with each other school.
Kind of shows that the Iowa AD, once again is overspending for the success it gets?

It is Iowa's fault. When you vote to expand almost fully based upon NY tv revenue, you get watered down games. You get Michigan and tOSU less and Rutgers and Maryland more.
That's true. And I've had plenty of conversations with my friends that are Iowa fans. Having back to back home games against Minnesota and Illinois is boring.

Wonder what the CF record is for negative ratings received is? Thinking that Walmartthieves has pretty much "stolen" this title with 629 and counting. I have never seen this many negative ratings on someone before on CF. Plus he's only been on a couple months under this name. He should get the "most disliked member" title.

And the Minnesota and Illinois games are ones fans actually care about, because they've played them before.

The bigger problem is not who they play too often, it's who they rarely play that they used to be rivals with.

How many times, under the current model, has Iowa played Michigan, tOSU, MSU, and PSU? How many times have they played more than one or two of them a season? Michigan used to be one of their big games almost every year, now it's 5 years between home games with them maybe?

And finally, the B1G West might be improving slightly, but it's still well below the East as a division.

Yeah I believe tOSU will play a few non conference teams each more times this decade than they will play Iowa.

A few of us have been working very hard on this.

This is where MC has me somewhat concerned. He understands the importance of developing his defense and lines. Now the OL has taken him longer and he still isn't there yet, but I think he understands what it takes to win consistently and that is to be big and strong in the trenches.

I don't feel past Cyclone coaches understood that. They would try to rely on some gimmick offense and hope for the best.

They also tried keeping up with the pace of the Big 12 offenses which was a big mistake for personnel. Snyder with KSU was proof that you don't have to have a circus on the field to be good.

Imo programs like Iowa and ISU are going to succeed when the opponent has to adjust to what they're doing.
