ISU isn't going to finish higher in the rankings than Iowa, but I'm willing to bet they finish within 8 or so spots of each other.
Honest question.. no trolling. Taking a look at the numbers, it obviously shows CMC has been behind KF in ranked recruiting classes but not by that much. Since CMC got here, his recruiting classes have gotten better, which they should if you're starting to win more games and put the team on the map. KF is getting better than what he was a few years ago but there isn't a huge gap between the two schools in regards to recruiting. I'm just wondering if that's discouraging to Iowa fans since CMC is a new coach and has had a little bit of success but Kirk is a long tenured coach with quite a bit of success.
Iowa will probably finish ranked 5-10 spots higher than us. In the end it will be closer than that since Campbell and the staff normally add a couple high level players after the February signing period via grad transfers or early graduating JC kids. Guys like Knipfel and Wilson would have been top 50 JC's and highly recruited if they came back for their sophomore season. Iowa did do well this off season picking up Martin from Michigan. I believe they have a grad transfer from a Division II school on the d-line. I am probably forgetting someone but the only grad transfer that I remember making an impact for them was a punter a couple years ago. He was pretty good.
And a punter this year as well. Ferentz has seen the future on the grad transfer stuff.
Not discouraging IMO. I like how Iowa’s recruiting has gone the last 5 years. I think there’s a ceiling for both programs as far as recruiting goes...
I think that ceiling is around the 30-35 range...in other words a “great” recruiting class for either school.
If we can consistently be in the 35-40 range I’d be content..

Personally I don’t compare Iowa to isu or really put a lot of stock into recruiting rankings. Iowa goes after a group of kids they think will fit best within the culture of how Iowa wants to do things. That isn’t a fit for everyone. For me an indication of how they are doing with recruiting is how well they do with the kids they identify as a good fit early. The earlier the class fills the better. It means they are getting the kids they think fit best. Then there tends to be a few kids that are on the radar early but don’t get an offer until late in the cycle. Iowa has done well with those kids as well.
There is a lot of irony to this statement. He’s not so insecure that he registers and reregisters for a site of a team he doesn’t care about.
And you should probably actually know what a fact is before throwing around the term so loosely.
