You're comparing apples to oranges. One coach to another, in a completely different conference / conference alignment. I'm literally comparing Kirk Ferentz to Kirk Ferentz.

Take from this what you will, but only using the last three seasons (Campbell's tenure) Iowa is 4-7 versus top 25 teams (36.4%) and ISU is 5-8 versus top 25 teams (38.5%). Campbell's first season, ISU went 0-4 against top 25 teams, which is clearly not his standard.

To me, it seems "the better coach" (according to many Hawk fans) would be better against top teams than Matty Campbell.
