So Iowa was the better team the past two years using your ideology. I agree with you.
Right, so since neither team was ranked in 2017 the better team was the one that won head to head, had the same number of wins and played the tougher schedule.
ISU received more votes in the final AP poll in 2017. Not sure why that is so hard to comprehend. If you don't think that matters you're entitled to your own wrong opinion
Getting votes still isn’t being ranked. If voters truly thought isu was better they would have been ranked and Iowa wouldn’t.
Why isn’t SOS part of the discussion? You sure do like to post your wrong opinion about the strength of the Big Ten West. But when Iowa has a top 5 SOS all that you want to talk about is isu not being ranked in the final poll.

Best to ignore SOS of the two teams. My guess is that SOS only matters when isu has one tougher.
I am saying receiving votes and not being ranked is no way to judge who the better team was in 2017. Both teams won the same number of games, Iowa won head to head and played a tougher schedule.
I would retroactively change the criteria as well if I were a clone fan.

They had similar records but that doesn't mean they were the same at the end. Going into the bowl season the past two years, Iowa State has been ranked higher in almost every single poll. Two years ago we were ranked longer throughout the year and we played a 10-2 #25 Memphis team in a better bowl game than what Iowa played in. Last year we were ranked longer throughout the year and played in a better bowl game against a 10-2 #12 Washington State. Iowa beat Iowa State both years sure, but you can make the case that Iowa State was a more quality football team at the end of the year both years.

Every freaking division in power 5 is going to have that because every division in P5 plays each other mostly - AND GUESS WHAT! 1/2 the teams are going to win those games and 1/2 are going to lose.
So Every division is going to essentially start out with the same number of teams with an O/U 5 within the division. Then you would expect 1/2 the P5s to be an over/under 2 on non-con.
What matters is the level of competition in that division and O/U says nothing about that.

In 2017 isu lost 3 of its last 5 games while Iowa won 3 of its last 5. Not sure you want to go with isu was better at the end.
ISU is 4-5 the last two seasons in November and Bowl games. Wouldn't say that is finishing the season strong.
This is funny. Now a winner is not declared in September, we have to wait until we see what the newspaper people say later on in the season.
