Except this year, that is changing. 3-4 pre season ranked Big west teams. 3-4 Big 12 teams total. 7-8 Big ten teams ranked total........ So, Iowa has to play 6 preseason ranked teams. That is quite the schedule this year.

Do you know what teams are in the big ten? I saw NW and Iowa at 24/25 and three east teams in front of them. That’s five and playing with yourself doesn’t count.

Edit and I see you don’t play OSU do you play three teams ranked conference wise.

Pre-season polls don't mean much but at the end of last season, the same % of teams from the B1G West and Big 12 finished ranked.

IMO both conferences could be deeper this year. Most people assume Nebraska will be better. And check out Gary Patterson's career the year after a "down" year for him, its impressive.

Nebby is everyone's preseason darling. I'll be shocked if Martinez gets through the entire season uninjured the way 3/4 of their playbook is basically him running around creating miracles. If he goes down they're finished. It's obvious the D will always suck under Frost.

I don’t put much stock into rankings. Just like to see ISU either ranked or close because it seems harder to drop out than get in.

They can definitely be off. And I agree that the B1G West and Big 12 have work to do to get those numbers up.
