Iowa Football Recruiting

12 in 20 years with over 50+ misses isn't very impressive especially when you consider the schedule he's facing

I didn’t know the NFL based who they draft because of the schedule the player faced.
Curious as to how many defensive backs in isu history have been drafted?
Thanks for the link. There have been 11 DBs drafted in the entire history of the ISU program.

Why does the NFL stuff matter so damn much? Again, no one is shooting down Iowa's draft history, most are wondering why it doesn't equate to more wins.
You're having it both ways of being this awesome stat, then rewarding a coach for an 8th win.

If don’t think Iowa is rewarding a coach just for winning 8 games. Iowa is using the 8 game win mark as an incentive to keep a coach and his staff. The success they have had previously is well beyond just 8 wins.

As far as draft picks not equating to wins it just doesn’t correlate. This isn’t only for Iowa but many other schools. USC and Maryland had as many draft picks in April as Iowa did and they still had a losing record in 2018.

I love it when the positives are only ever shown and not the negatives.

And now you are using one year of Maryland and USC's draft picks to back up your NFL point but want to discuss how many DBs ISU has had drafted in a decade or ever?
Dude, show some consistency.

Plus Iowa is a developmental program. They take unheralded recruits and turn them into NFL quality players. The coaching staff does a great job in that regard. It isn't like they have a whole roster of four and five star players like USC and Texas have. They have to make due with what they get and they do a good job of doing just that.

Why would Iowa need an incentive to keep Kirk Ferentz? Where is he going to go?

It's hard to recruit 4 or 5 star type recruits do a middle of the pack Big Ten West team. Finally something we can agree on

Except Iowa has had several 4 years and 5 star recruits. They come to Iowa to be developed and they know that on average there is a good chance they will win a conference title or play in a New Years Six Bowl game.
