Anyone have some good recommendations? My son is 5 and he's not really interested in PBS educational cartoon anymore, however he still likes Octonauts. I'm a big fan of Octonauts due to the sealife educational slant in each episode.

He also enjoys chasing monsters(extreme fishing show) which isn't huge on the educational aspect, but he learns things and gets exposure to different countries and cultures. In general he likes to acquire information on animals/sealife/dinosaurs, and Octonauts/Chasing Monsters meets that need. For a while he was into Meerkat Manor but seemed to lose interest, which I was ok with. That show bores me.

He really likes RoboZuna, but its a cartoon about some sort of robot fighting competition, and its basically mindless entertainment which I'm not a fan of. Get off my lawn! :D

We have Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc. Whadda ya got for us to check out?

How the states got their shapes??? sounds like a smart 5 year old, but that is some good stuff that sticks with kids....

Has he watched the Planet Earth series and all the other BBC nature series? Sounds like he would especially like Blue Planet. I remember when I was a kid I use to love just about any nature show you would put me in front of, and there are a ton of those for free on streaming.

I use to watch that every day after school. No way that would fly today...

I think it honestly is educational in a way. The vocabulary and situational humor as well as some of the segments honestly being informative.

Yeah hes sort of hit or miss on those. Not sure why they don't always hold his attention because they are right in his genre of favorite programming.
