Iowa Football Recruiting

@Hawkmi I know you had mentioned Iowa is owed a waiver for the whole Ott thing but can you remind me why? For some reason I remember it as being pretty cut and dry but I could be wrong. FWIW I'm not trolling and I'd be thrilled if Bolton and Martin got waivers
It's not as black and white as people think. Extenuating circumstances must be taken into account. Here is a good article describing Ott's waiver.

He played in more than 30% of the games that season. I hate the NCAA but I'm not sure how you could say they did him wrong

I can't remember who it was, but I'm pretty confident the NCAA has approved waivers for players that have played more than 30% of their games before.

I wouldn't be surprised if Iowa adds the two visitors from Florida this weekend or early next week.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but one difference I thought happened in Ott's situation was it generally had to be a repetitive injury. Meaning that if you have a couple different things knock you out for this or that, that you were less likely to be granted a waiver. (I'm talking up to his situation, it seems they have been granted slightly easier now). Was thinking you needed to have like a knee issue that plagued you for multiple years. I also think I remember Ott missing some early and then coming back for a few games and then getting either re injured or hurt again in the same season. His was a different situation than most, IIRC

After this year, iowa will for the first time have 5 straight classes of under 50. Has not happened ever in the Kirk era. So things are picking up and the coaches know what they are doing

I know a math/stat guy who works for 247 and he told me their ranking is flawed and that Iowa's classes are actually in the 15-20 range annually.

Makes sense. Lot of people connected on this board. It is a privilege to be apart of it.
