I posted this in the Rasir Bolton thread but this is a topic I want to hear your thoughts on... Now that next year's roster is set in stone, do you think we're going back to the big tourney?

Guards
Prentiss
Tyrese
Bolton (assuming he gets the waiver)
Tre Jackson

Wings
T-Lew
Zion (can also play the 4)
Grill
Leech

Forwards
Conditt
Solo
Jacobson
Luke Anderson

I see this roster as having talent that's somewhere in the middle of our 17'-18' team and last year's bunch. I do think however, that team chemistry is an area that was not good last year, and could potentially drastically improve next year.

I don't see any clear cut #1's, or guys who are expected to carry the load day in and day out. That makes me excited, and I think that could lead us to see a more cohesive, dogged play-style. With that said, I think the roster has the ingredients to make the tournament and potentially surprise us in March. What do you guys think?

I love what Prohm was able to do this spring! With that said, I think we will be a competitive team but we need someone that can step up to close out the game. I'm not entirely sure we have that player, but hopefully someone can step up. Should be a fun season.

League should be top heavy. I think we get in with a 8-10 maybe 9-9 conf. record. Atlantis will be extremely fun to watch

Prohm likes playing 7 or 8 guys, if Bolton plays, we really only need one guy between Jackson and the group of wings you listed to step up. It's a tourney team if that happens, no reason to think it won't. I'm confident in everyone else.

Haliburton
Bolton
Nixon
Conditt/Young
Jacobson
---
Conditt/Young
#1/5 of the below
#2/5 of the below

5 = Jackson, Grill, Lewis, Griffin, Leech

If Anderson is really that much better than the 5 above, then put him in the rotation and play 3/2 full-time, now only needing one of the 5 above to contribute.

That is a tournament team.

The remaining key is Bolton's eligibility and needing at least one, but ideally two, of the other guards/wings to be able to be effective bench guys in the Big 12.

We get those last few things, and we are in business.

Great job by Prohm and the staff rebuilding the roster on the fly.

This can be a tournament team if we have good inside/outside balance. I don't see 3-4 consistent point shooters on the roster. So we need to be a well rounded team- steady on defense, be a plus rebounding team and get more easy transition baskets.

I think we accomplish that if we go big and the trio of Conditt, Young & Jacobson play 70-80 mpg.

I don't recall anyone predicting Shayok would be the closer on last year's team, certainly nothing he did at UVA indicated would be. That's the fun part of college basketball, seeing how the team and players develop.

Agree 100%.

Non conference is going to be pretty important for next years team. It’s definitely not an easy one. There’s positives and negatives to that, but I do worry about losses mounting with a tough non con and it snowballing into conference season. I think they are a tourney team in the 9-11 seed range, just a wild guess.

If Bolton is immediately eligible and they get anything positive from Lewis this will be a #4-#6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and #3 or #4 seed in the Big 12. The presence of Conditt (post defense) and Nixon (on ball defense) will allow Halliburton and company to take some chances on defense would should translate into more fast break points.

We are going to have a more balanced roster in terms of scoring than any team in recent memory. We dont have an 18 ppg guy on our roster but I wouldn't be entirely shocked if any of the below averaged 10+ on the season.

Haliburton
Bolton
Nixon
Lewis
Jacobsen
Conditt
Young
