Iowa, Barta and Fran all publicly came out and said Fran had nothing to do with it
I'll give it to Iowa, they sure know how to turn a rather small issue into national news that lasts for months.
Apparently they subscribe to the erroneous maxim that all publicity is good publicity

The email sender was probably in Fran's contact list, so the blacked out part was a link, not a full email address.
