The DNR has had reading material about Mountain Lions in Iowa for 15-20 years. They were "in denial" until they were able to confirm.

OK...This was up for sale on ebay a couple of weeks ago...I really, really, really wanted to bid...

I remember an episode of The Rifleman when a cougar was sneaking up on Mark and Lucas fired one from the hip, as he always did, and MISSED.
He spent the rest of the episode looking for someone to kill just so he could prove to himself that he still had it. In the end he had the guy is his sights, gonna shoot him just to do it when the cougar came back and Lucas spun, fired one off from the hip and killed the cougar. After that everything was back to normal and Lucas let the guy live because his blood lust was sated for the time being.

That's almost as bad of a story as the Brady Bunch episode when Jan was feeling down because she wasn't very popular. At the end of the show, Carol bought her some new clothes and suddenly Jan became popular.

Is this really happening? We should build a giant pipeline from the melting polar ice cap to refill the depleting aquifers?
Northwest passage plus Nebraska becomes a little less boring-looking seems like a win-win situation to me. What could possibly go wrong?
