Aside from Russian Whale Spies being a good band name, this got me wondering...

As technology and cameras get more and more miniaturized, what other animals would make good spies? Bees? Roaches with night vision cameras? I think I would go with squirrels as my choice...I could rule my neighborhood.

I'm an animal lover, however the squirrels that recently chewed through my deck and fascia have put them in a special category for me.

The idea of sending in a squirrel squadron with cameras that could also be remotely detonated is something I could get behind.

I designed a "chiropractic" squirrel feeder. It involves a 110 conibear trap and a few kernels of corn. When a squirrel comes in to eat it get its spine adjusted.

Squirrels are the ninjas of the rodent world. Give them knives on their feet and they would be the ultimate assassins.

There is work proceeding on miniature drones with cameras, I think they are currently dragonfly-ish size and working towards bumblebee sized.
