Looks like Brian Peavy will get a chance in Arizona... but it appears to be a mini camp invite only. So, up hill battle to make it to the preseason. Obviously, hoping he gets a chance, either in Arizona or somewhere else. If he could get on a preseason roster I think he will at least make a practice squad... just needs a chance.

Judging by the first three rounds of majority short WRs that were drafted it's hard to see why his height is such a horrible thing. (mostly sarcasm but a little not)

That's a pretty good point. No point in needing tall corners with shorter WRs. So he didn't even get a free agent contract?

Seems like the NFL switches paths every 5 years. They want tall receiver's sometimes then they want shorter quick route running reliever's. Right now I think we can thank the Patriots for all the little reliever's being the thing to get.

At Draftscout.com it listed him as the #97 best corner with a 40 range of 4.64 to 4.74.
D'Andre Payne and DeMonte Ruth are actually rated higher than Peavy.

When I rewatch our games, I notice Peavy did get beat quite a bit due to lack of speed. He is the one who gave up that desperation 50-yard TD by Okie State with under a minute to go when we were up by 13. Should be playing prevent there, no way you allow a TD over the top. But it happens, even the NFL players make those mistakes. But things like that won't help Brian to impress a pro team. Just a fact. Obviously we are all wishing him the best.

He sure looked like a fantastic corner when I watched him. Was there any that were better than him that we played? I guess I am no judge of talent. It seemed like you could really trust him in one-on-one coverage.

I hope he can at least make a practice squad. I think looking it up last year for Lazard, the minimum they make is around 130k. Not a bad living

Hope he sticks somewhere. He's a gamer.

I actually looked too and couldn't find it. References I have seen to Peavy are that he is quicker than he is fast. It isn't that his time was so slow, rather that CB's below 5'10" often need a truly standout 40 time to get noticed. The references I have seen say his didn't standout like that as a true burner.

I think that his 40 at pro day killed his chances of getting drafted and also getting a UFA contract. He's going to have to fight his way into the real camp next month.

Does Brian play for University of the West of England? I saw this pop up on Twitter...

So I went to the page to watch the game for a few minutes to see what the level of play is like. Shortly after I tuned in, the announcer said Brian Peavy II with an interception! (or similar). I didn't think anything of it, but then watched the replay and the guys on the sideline and it made me wonder if it was him.

So then I did some Google-ing and noticed he's currently getting a Master of Data Science at University of the West of England. So it indeed must be him! Crazy.

Wow good for him. That's a degree that will land him an awesome job.
