NBA Draft Prospect pulls up to restaurant in $300,000 car

The 30 for 30 about athletes being broke like 60 days after they stop playing is encapsulated here. Just terrible use of money.
Its amazing how stupid most of them are about their money. Not to mention the child support that kicks in at an amazing rate for a lot of them too.

Even this is a terrible use of money. Considering this guy will prolly be out of the NBA in less than 5 years.
I'm curious to know if he has signed with an agent. Could have been an agent that rented it and went out to dinner with him and was trying to impress.

I'm not defending it. Its dumb all around.

That's a 570s so more like $200k, but it's almost certainly rented by either him or his agent, a million places to rent a car like that in LA.

I always thought those diamond-encrusted dollar sign necklaces with the 5 pound chain would appreciate in value...
Especially ones that are incredibly personalized. Like some nickname or inside joke.

No idea why it's so hard. Just do something simple, like decide to live on 50% of your take home, with the other half put in a trust of some sort. Hopefully, you have a long enough career that you can have it disperse funds over 30-40 years after retirement.

I've told this story on here before. A day or two after "the blarge", I was at the Kum and Go on the corner of Welch and Chamberlain, in pulls a massive, white Mercedes. Out of the driver's seat pops Marcus Fizer. My friend standing next to me says "well, I guess that answers the 'is he declaring?' question."

I was at a Gym in Phoenix and Ben Simmons pulled up two days after he announced he was entering the draft. He was driving a Lambo. Really nice guy but he already started getting loans based off the endorsements he was going to secure.

Don't worry. The NCAA is on top of this!

Take that - UNC, UK, KU, Duke...!!! That will teach those blue bloods about the dangers of rule-breaking! Glad to see that the NCAA hasn't lost their sense of justice!

Gee whiz, take it easy on this kid. 2K for his agent to rent it for the day. I'd absolutely do that if I was getting drafted into the NBA.

Some fun haters in here.

Eh, bad habits die hard. This is telling the kid that this is how he should live. It's why these guys go broke.

Nobody will ever be able to tell me there's not enough money available for more important things for every day people when the kind of money that's being paid to athletes is only going higher.
