Looks like depending on where you look, the cyclones are anywhere from a 6 to 8 seed at the moment.

It would be really nice to get a 6 seed to stay away from the powerful 1s and 2 seeds this year.

How much will the cyclone seeding be impacted by the conference tournament?

We have a chance to play ourselves up a little IMHO. Without our six game or so swoon our seeding would be more set but lots of the talking heads still have respect for the team that a ton of our fans do not. One and done would be bad. Win some and we maybe prove we are back on track and get a 6.

Sûre hope they beat Baylor. Being a 6 seed is a lot betterment than a 7 seed IMO. You get to play an 11 seed in Round 1 and at worst a 3 seed in Round 2

Time for the annual reminder that the importance conference tourney games is not that great, historically. I’ll go on record and say the floor for ISU is a 7-seed, the ceilings a 5, and they’ll need to win at least 2 games to move up from 7.

I’ve beem wrong before (frequently), but the tournament games are generally no more important than the preceding 30.

Yeah, the Big 12 tournament is more important for our state of mind than for seeding. I agree that we are probably in the 5 to 7 range depending a bit on this next week.
