Weatherman Preseason #3 at 152

Considering he could have an immediate impact on the starting lineup (after a red-shirt year) as a heavier wrestler Weatherman would be nearly as good of an addition as Clark and Taylor. He is certainly a "blue chip" prospect. I gotta say though I heard from other Bomber friends his family has been seen in black and gold. Hopefully that's just a bad rumor.

it sucks that iowa runs a monopoly on all of those IC-west studs. the stjohn kid sounds pretty good. wrestled 50 matches and only gave up 2 takedowns? thats impressive.

I heard a year or two ago that he would love to wrestle for Cael. There are definitely members of his family that cheer for the Hawks but as far as I know there is no true connection to the school. He has had at least a couple cousins that have come to ISU. Also I don't think its younger brother but actually younger cousin.
Edit: It is brother at 125 I believe, I was thinking they were referring to Brock who is a cousin.

Let's take both brothers and the cousin!

I believe Brock's step brother graduated from ISU...he was a stud in his own right and nearly walked on football but wanted to concentrate on the books.

Ballard Head Coach Jeff Weatherman (Brocks Dad, Uncle of Trent and Tanner) wrestled at UNI.

Iowa has a huge advantage over us when it comes to those kids, not only is West in Iowa City, but their head coach Mark Reiland wrestled and won an NCAA title at Iowa.

It hurts with them getting those kids, but I think we will be just fine. I still have to consider Iowa the favorite this year for the National Title, but in 2010 is when I think we could have 10 All-American's and start our own title run.

Actually, I think it's too close to call:

125 Clark/Falck - Ad. Falck
133 Fanthorpe/Slaton - Ad. Slaton
141 Gallick/Tsirtsis or others - Ad. Gallick
149 Mueller/Metcalf Large Ad. - Metcalf
157 Sanderson/Morningstar Ad. - Sanderson

165 Reader/Covington - Ad. Reader
174 Burk or Carr/Borschel - Ad. Borschel
184 Ward/Keddy - Ad. Keddy
197 Varner/Beatty - Large Ad. Varner
HVY Zabriskie/ Eriksen - Ad Zabriskie

Yea the Iowa meet should a hell of a dual.

As for weatherman, it would be a great addition for him to come to ISU. I saw the whole Ballard team at one of the meets last year after the state tourny. Nice to see them attending a meet as it looks good for ISU. Now whether that means anything to where he goes to college is a different story...

I agree head to head we are close and this years dual meet will be one for the ages, but we will not wrestle head to head in all 10 weights at Nationals and just from past history the Hawks seem to score more bonus points for whatever reason. I'm not saying we can't win it this year, it will come down to seedings and who gets the better draws.

I just wanted to say I didn't notice this post was in the Wrestling forum and that I don't pay much attention to wrestling, so the title confused the hell out of me. I was trying to figure out what a weather man had to do with a preseason and the numbers 3 and 152.

Sorry, I'll go away now.

Let's lace'm up and get the season going. I'm ready. The Weatherman's have to finish the FB season 1st. Good athletes all the way around.
