If Iowa State fans are able to claim that Iowa State held off Alabama for Purdy, I see no reason why I can’t claim that Iowa held off Michigan for Goodson.
Purdy got offered by Alabama. Goodson didn't get offered by Michigan
The Alamo Bowl announcers said that Purdy had a PWO opportunity, and Purdy himself said that Alabama completely dropped all communications with him. Doesn’t sound much like an offer to me.
Purdy said himself Alabama offered him a scholarship. It's well documented by every recruiting site too. You can say it didn't end up being a committable scholarship offer but to compare someone who was offered a scholarship to someone who wasn't is dumb even for you
