Iowa BB Player Tweets about ISU After Loss

Hes averaging less than 9 PPG in conference play. Iowa played 2 conference games in late November and early December. Who cares when the games are played?

Well the way you word it you make it sounds like it's a progression from non conference season to conference season. "Wieskamp has stayed pretty consistent from non con to B1G season" so what are you getting at then? Ole Miss occurred during Big 12 play.

THT put up a lot better numbers in non con against weaker competition than he has in Big 12 play. Wieskamp has stayed pretty consistent from non con to B1G season.

You really doubled down on it though back then

Doubled down? LOL!

Yikes. No Ellingson as a senior? Going to need another shooter and Wieskamp isn't one

@YeahBuddy Liestikow was comparing Wieskamp to Jok. Obviously that is off since Wieksamp isn't a very good shooter. Do you have a comparison for him?

Wieskamp isn't a very good shooter but he'd get minutes.

I'm surprised he said anything about 3 pt shooting since Wieskamp isn't a good 3 pt shooter at all

Joe isn't a good shooter Mashup. He shot like 35% from 3 against 6 foot tall Iowa kids

And Wieskamp only shot 34% from 3 getting guarded by 5'10 kids

I have probably seen 3-4 from start to finish and a chunk of another 5-6.

Going with the old eye test, huh?

Lol I love the search function

You are going to claim Shayok was a great get but it has been proved here that a connected UVA source said he was looking at reduced playing time next season.
I am happy that ISU is using 2 years of a scholly on 1 year of Shayok playing.
I have said multiple times that I am happy ISU burned 2 years of a scholly on him for one year of playing time.
He hasn’t even played a game yet for ISU...little early to call him great, isn’t it?
I just answered it a few posts ago. He wasn’t even guaranteed a major role on UVA as a senior. But now he’s going to be one of the best players at ISU?
Either an incredibly optimistic set of expectations for him or doesn’t speak well for the talent level at ISU. I will let you tell me which one it is.

Wieskamp put up similar numbers during B1G play than in the non con. Competition gets better he still produces.

THT put up much bigger numbers in the non con.

If I had to choose between the two, I'd take THT in a minute. You'll say I'm prejudiced, but you can't in all honesty tell me Wieskamp is a better basketball player than THT.

I'm not sure. THT probably has a higher upside, but he does seem to force quite a few shots.

Oh Buddy, you're comparing me saying I didn't think Wieskamp would shoot 43% from 3 to you saying you were happy we got Shayok? That's sad

You were pretty adamant that Wieskamp wasn’t a good shooter and that he and THT were similar in terms of their abilities as a shooter. Pretty big swing and a miss there.

For the record, I would be happy with either player and in a perfect world both. I feel THT has higher upside, but feel that Joe W is having a better season thus far.

What has he done against tourney quality teams? Honestly I thought he has struggled against good teams

Yeah Wieskamp is a better shooter than I thought but a worse defender. Still second best player on your squad though as a freshman which while it's not saying much given your talent level it's still impressive

For the record, I agree that THT has a higher upside, and Wieskamp has been a real find for the Hawks. But I honestly don't feel he has outplayed THT. He (THT) just defended Dean Wade of Kansas State, giving up 5" in height, and held Wade to 9 points in 30 minutes. Doubt Wieskamp could have done that.

Oh yeah, THT added 20 points on 7/11 from the field, including 6/9 from 3. I understand those numbers aren't typical, but in a huge game - on the road - he came up big on both ends of the floor.

Wieskamp is a pretty good defender, and there are posts from you that claim he would be a bad defender too. You were way off on Wieskamp.

Like I said earlier, Joe can have a nice career as a specialist.
