I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

There is no clear path foul in college basketball, as far as I know. That is an NBA rule.
after researching, you are right. I'm surprised college doesn't have this as a rule like the NBA does. It wouldn't make sense to review it unless they thought he tried hurting him.

~ Iowa won (2) games in a row miraculously, against #137 and #150 RPI teams
~ Iowa will get the headlines, even though ISU's victory was far more impressive
~ Eastern IA Hok media and 99% of Iowa fans--can't name one starter on KSTATE roster
~ Iowa fans are bipolar, suggesting Fran should be fired a few weeks ago.
~ I hope Fran keeps winning, and stays @ Iowa forever, because ISU still OWNS Fran

the end

They were reviewing it for an intentional foul.

I know this morning The Gazette's website had not one word about ISU's afternoon road win over a ranked team.

I literally had to go to the Gazette website to see what you were saying, unbelievable how they completely pretend that the University of Iowa is the only college institution in the state. What BS!

You gave hem a click. Stop it!

So I'm confused. Is Fran a good coach or not? I'm trying to look at this as objectively as possible. I think he does some good things in game with adjustments from time to time and while we make fun of the head scratching roster composition, he seems to make it work (this year anyway). I do like some of their offensive sets and ATOs as well. When they are clicking on offense you barely notice they don't have a true point guard running the show sometimes. And they do have a very good offense this year.

On the negative side of things I think recruiting can definitely be questioned. He's landed some decent players here and there (not a lot) but they all seem to play the same position and that position isn't PG. With how this team is performing this year it's hard for me to figure out if he's the smartest guy in the room and is ahead of the curve with the whole no PG ball, or if he's caught lightning in a bottle. I guess we'll see. Defense has been a struggle for quite a few of his teams, this one included. Roster composition could be a culprit here. Mental toughness of his teams has also not been there in years past. This year is yet to be determined but they look as if they are bucking that trend. And I think one of the bigger negatives is that he comes off as a petty jerk. The Dolph situation was a complete joke and that's just one instance. Coaches don't need to be nice guys all the time, but Fran does not do a ton to endear himself to the fanbase. He's tolerable when they win and insufferable when they don't.

Not sure if I've talked myself into him being a good or bad coach. Where are you at on this Hawk fans?

Francis John McCaffery (born May 23, 1959) is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball head coach at the University of Iowa. He has taken four Division I programs to postseason tournaments, including the Iowa Hawkeyes, who reached the finals of the 2013 National Invitation Tournament.

...and don’t call me Francis has taken 4 D1 teams to postseason man. Obvi a good coach.
