I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

Iowa has been decent under Fran, but ultimately a team that's had to "out-effort" their opponents in their better seasons, and still had some massive tank jobs in the 2nd half. Translation, I haven't been impressed with mad Fran. Gotta hand it it to em though, they've had some really incredible wins pulling out games late.

Wife and I were at Texas roadhouse tonight with a friend(hawk fan) and his wife, and he let out a very loud shout on the game winner that halted everything in the restaurant for a moment. :D

Honest question for the Hawk fans, how do you feel about about the last two games? Relieved, excited, confused?

Relieved. Definitely relieved. Past years teams lose the last two games. This years team seems to have the ability to will themselves to win even when things aren’t clicking. Just enjoying the ride for now.
Today was luck. And yes if ISU won like that I’d call it that too. We lucked out against Creighton by JVB half court shot.
I’m more impressed that Iowa is beating who they should on a regular basis and then some this year.

Dear God, Iowa is 50 spots behind Illinois in Kenpom’s adjusted defense.

That could bite them big time in the tourney.

From the outside it feels similar to the UAB year for ISU. They won a lot of games they got way behind in but since they kept pulling them out it was easy for fans to forget about the major flaws on display.

Makes one wonder just how much longer they can keep throwing up shots like that at the end of the game and they go in?

Good win for Iowa, I guess, helps ISU's NET ranking when they are winning. But boy does it seem like they are ready to crash and burn?

Yes, Iowa got lucky today. It’s about time that evens out though; Iowa has been 300+ in Kenpom’s “Luck” metric 3 of the last 5 years. Even today, Rutgers had a 20% three point shooter hit 4 threes, and hit a heavily contested three to take the lead. If things do in fact even out in the long run, Iowa is still due to have a few go their way based on the **** luck they have had the last 5-10 years.

Also, those of you claiming Iowa got every call in the 2nd half seem to be forgetting that Rutgers got away with what might be the most blatantly obvious flagrant foul I’ve ever seen in my life in the 2H.

do you not think Bohannon committed a clear path foul towards the end? It was pretty obvious watching the game he did...that evens out the flagrant foul you thought happened.

I guess it's better to be lucky than good. Get back to us when Iowa wins on the road against a quality ranked opponent.

Iowa's **** luck had more to do with bad teams and coaches than luck, but whatever makes you sleep at night.

Beating Rutgers is not a good win in basketball...or football for that matter.

This is definitely shaping up for first round upset potential. Feel like the committee is going to slot them a seed higher or give them a decent venue but match them up with a tempo-control team in round 1.
