I don't think it is. I wouldn't say it's great or even good. Decent is fair IMO.
That photo is like "where's waldo" there are so many things going on. It is a gem.
Bohannon has definitely regressed from last year and couldn't defend a barstool. Moss is hit or miss. Those two are not decent. Wieskamp is good though but is he one of your "guards" or a "wing"?
Decent? Um ok, the little white guy can hit some 3s once in awhile. But he plays no defense, they have no point guard, and they are all hit or miss on any given night. I would say for a Power 5 team, the guard play is bad. Fortunately for them, that's the case with several Big 10 teams this year. Iowa would get eaten alive in the Big 12. Guards are just too quick and good.
I have no watched a couple of games of Iowa's. I stand by my theory that the regression is directly linked to the strength and conditioning staff. Whatever they are doing is NOT helping athletes develop.
He's regressed. Not gonna argue that he can defend a barstool, because that might even be a tougher cover for him lol. The "clutch" factor has to be factored in here. Dude has hit some big shots. Moss being hit or his means decent in my book haha. Wieskamp is a Guard in my book.
So you had a bad guard in Bohannon, a decent one in Moss and a good one in Wieskamp? I could probably get on board with that. Your bench guards are awful though
I feel that most teams the #2 and #3 are interchangeable and are guards.
Cassius Winston, Carson Edwards, Zavier Simpson ring a bell? Goodness man. Both conferences have very good guard play. Again, I'm not saying Iowa's guard play is great, or even good. Decent.
Bohannon is decent. Yeah not much to write about coming off the bench. Anything Iowa gets from them is a cherry on top.
He only shoots 38% from the floor and is probably the worst defender in all of the Big Ten. Stop it
So out of 14 teams there are 3 good guards in the league? Awesome.
He's shooting 45% from 3 in conference play.(Over 60% the last 5 games). He needs zero to no space to get his 3 point shot off when he wants. He definitely has his weaknesses but he is an elite level shooter.
Shoots 40+ from 3. 86% from the line. Top 10 Big 10 offensive rating. Being a bad defender doesn't automatically make you a bad guard. Decent.
