Which is really the best strategy. I know a lot of the talk at the beginning of the season was to that effect, which I agreed completely. The offense is going to be good. Just commit to the zone and play to the strength of the team, which is 3-5 length. Take your chances with teams getting hot. Their D in mostly man to man last year was unbelievably terrible and their offense was good that even being kind of bad on defense would be enough to win games.
Teams don't see zone enough to prepare a lot for it. A team that's good against the zone is going to carve them up more than likely, but it's still a recipe for them to win some games, as they can score. I'll say it again, JorBo is limited and annoying, but just having a guy that can hit shots and isn't afraid of big games and big moments is what they have been missing in the Fran era. White and Uthoff were very good players, but they disappeared when things got tight. Admittedly I have not watched much Iowa bball, but from what I've seen Cook and Garza play their asses off, and that goes a long way. A bit like Haliburton, Wieskamp seems to defer too much and should shoot and attack more.
I don't think they have a great ceiling, but I see them in a way similar to ISU, in that they could stumble in a 5-12 type matchup or make a bit of a run. I'm skeptical of Iowa until they beat a tournament caliber team outside of Carver.
I was talking about meaningful players. If you want to include everyone than I would add McCaffery, Kriener, Dailey and Till
Yeah, he's been clutch, but stats don't lie. He's a career 40% shooter and less than that this year. Again, I don't consider that awesome.
Pretty sure McCaffery was on the floor the final five minutes when Iowa went on a 23-7 run to close out the game.
Dailey, Kriener, McCaffery and Till all play. I'm talking about meaningful players you have to game plan against
Garza hitting at a better 3 pt% than THT. Yikes!
He seems to force a lot of shots when I watch him play.

You do realize that 168 wins would put him 2nd all-time at Iowa State as well. Try harder next time.
I'm guessing you're comparing McCaffrey and someone else. Who's the comparison?
He drives quite a bit and bangs around. I think if he loses some of that baby weight still on his frame, it will help his outside shot.
Player B is McCaffery, Player A is someone very comparable to him that used to play for Iowa
