I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

Two can play this game. Such an impressive performance by ISU winning by 1 pt on the road against an Oklahoma team coming off a loss to WVU and 30 pt loss to Baylor! NAH. Both good wins. Q1 wins, against teams desperate for wins at their place.
You’re correct- OU and IU are similar wins, but ISU has won @ #8 at the time Tech and nobody in the league has handed them their .ss the way Purdue did and Michigan State (2x) did. IA has a nice season going but there is some falseness to it also- two good home wins and not much else.

Yeah definitely a great road win at Tech. I wouldn't say there is anything false about it. They're probably ranked accurately IMO. #20 AP 24 NET 23 KEN nothing more, nothing less than that.

Really? Even though Iowa State is ranked higher in pretty much every ranking I always hear 98-84 proves Iowa is better.

Both teams have similar records, strength of schedule, rankings, etc. I think Iowa State is a little bit better than Iowa this year, but it’s hard to criticize anyone for saying that Iowa is better when the above is true and Iowa blew them out. You might have a point if Iowa was like 14-9.

IU has to be one of the most disappointing programs over the last 5 or so years, right? Maybe I’m biased because I lived in Indiana for 8 years so I have a ton of friends that are IU fans, but it seems like every year they’re talking about how great their team is and how great the recruiting classes are yet they just never seem to put it together.

Time will tell for both teams- there is a lot of fluidity in rankings of any sort- some weeks in conference play are tougher than others, injuries, teams lose their mojo for 3-4 games (Michigan State, Tech), get exposed for what they truly are, etc. Both IA and ISU did what they should this week if they want to contend for big things in March- win road games that they should. It’s just harder to tell with an unbalanced schedule. And while I’m not claiming the Big 12 is better than the Big 10, it is hairs splitting KSU, Baylor, KU, and ISU right now. I don’t think IA is quite that close to Purdue/Michigan State.

Has to bother them that they are on another coach and Painter just keeps plugging away at Purdue and getting it done.

But that 6 pt road victory for ISU at OSU is a tough gritty win, right??? I'm sorry after further review your application to Sunnyvale Trailer Park has been denied. Can't have residents with poor basketball takes.

Sorry, I don’t do “what about the other side. “ I’m just going by what I saw tonight. I saw Iowa throw up 4 terrible shots on one possession, with Indiana having no clue how to box out or rebound. The fift terrible shot of that possession somehow landed in an Indiana players hands. That game was trash basketball and anyone involved in that game should be embarrassed.

And BTW, I own Sunnyvale. I hooked up with Barb years ago after she dumped Ricky and Sam left.

Iowa is who they are. They're good but not very good. They'll beat a great team at home and lose headsratchers on the road. They'll beat the teams they should beat with an occasional loss to one of them and vice versa with the top of the league teams.

If they end up a 5 seed against a team like Hofstra or Lipscomb or Murray State or Wofford it's an easy upset pick.

Also- I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Bohannon has got some stones. Kid was out there drilling daggers to close out the game tonight.

Wouldn't you call it that? Iowa is much better than them and they won. For every Michigan there is a Minnesota. You can't argue that. Iowa is good I am not saying they aren't. How good is the question. Don't get your panties in a bunch, honey.
