I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

I feel like they're going to pull off enough wins in February to make the tourney, but if they don't would it be the biggest collapse in the Fran era?

They're not in a full panic yet but they'll probably be about a 4 point home underdog Friday vs Michigan. I know they have Rutgers 2x and Northwestern at home yet, but lose to Michigan to fall to 5-6 in conference with an upcoming road trip @ Indiana and the meltdown will be on.

Guess this is something between you and yourself.

Intramural solitaire?

They play 2 ranked teams the rest of the way...both at Carver. They also have 2 games against Rutgers, 2 against Indiana, etc.

They play 1 game each against the top 4 teams in the conference.

Nice to have that beautiful, unbalanced schedule.

But but but...all the teams are top 100 in kenpom... #nogimmees

I was in attendance at the Barn yesterday. Only thing that was glaring to me was that the team was not running nearly as well whenever JorBo was in the game. That and at 2 minutes left in the game I turned to my buddy and said "I don't think I've heard Wieskamps name called once". They're a solid offensive team, can' deny that but their D still needs a Lot of work.

I was pretty much counting 0-4 during this four game stretch and hoping for 1-3 and maybe even getting 2-2. So all is not lost with me yet. Even if they go 0-4, they have enough time to make up for it and get to 10-10 in the conference and make the tourney.

at 10-10 in conference.. does that have a body of work for the tourney?

I'm curious what their resume will look like at 10-10. How nervous would you be sitting at 8-10 with @Wisconsin and @Nebraska left?

At this point they only real quality team they have beaten is ISU, and that was at home. Seen a couple minutes and listened to a couple minutes. Announcers talked about Iowa not having any non con road games. Not good when road record is something that gets discussed. Iowa buying wins is going to hurt them. Not to mention they are buying bad wins.

I guess I'm really not sure how it would stack up given changes in the selection criteria and who else ends up on the bubble. I still think people are stuck on those neutral court Oregon and UConn wins and haven't paid attention to those two teams since. Those two teams and Pitt are all 12-8 and are highly unlikely to make the tournament.

Still a bunch of winnable games, Rutgers x2, Hoosiersx2 and NW. SHOULD win 4/6, I think they get 5/6. The split with Mich/Terps and the tourney is a lock. Even road to trips to Wisky and Nebraska aren't too daunting. Easily 5 more wins out there, if it plays out like it looks, they should get a favorable match up in Chicago for the BTT.

Which is why I said all is not lost even if they went 0-4 during this stretch of games.

Fran is doing a hell of a job. Outside of Cook it’s a MVC roster.

And yet, a lot had to go right for Iowa to have this “peak” year. Cook and Moss return, a mediocre recruit in Garza literally grows into a pretty good player, he stumbled into adding a couple tavernhawks.

So, according to Hawk message boards, quite a few of their fans have turned on Cook. I think that's a little misguided, but so be it. I'm guessing he's gone at the end of the year.

Any scenario / chance that Cook returns next year ?@? They'll miss Baer for sure.

Have no idea. Whether he stays his senior year or not, I feel he will be playing ball over seas. Nothing wrong with that. Just depends on how much he values a college degree.

What about Wiggington coming back for his Junior year?
