I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

ISU SOS is ranked at 32nd today, Iowa's is 68th. So the Squawks SOS is not better than ISU's. https://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/rankings/sos

ISU's NET ranking is 17th, while Iowa's is 24th.

Iowa’s SOS is better than ISU’s on KenPom. The average NET ranking of Iowa’s opponents is also lower (meaning a higher quality team) than Iowa State’s.

I don’t care that Iowa State’s NET ranking is better than Iowa’s. I never claimed that Iowa was the better team, only that their resumes are similar.

You do understand that the Net rankings aren’t static right? We don’t know what a Q1 or Q2 win is right now..,

Yes, I understand that, but how is it relevant? The only thing we have to judge teams on is their resume/accomplishments to date. If Iowa has “a lot of work to do” based on their resume to date, then so does Iowa State, considering that Iowa has more quality wins at this point in the season than Iowa State does.

I do find it amusing that Gopher fans fully embrace their dislike of Iowa and it isn't even their biggest rival (UW).

@GopherHole As #Gophers MBB gets ready to take on the Hawkeyes tomorrow, it’s time for roll call!!!!!

WHO HATES IOWA?!?!?!

Iowa is very unlikeable. Their coach is a raging lunatic. Their style of play is abhorrent. Watching a couple of their players run down the court is torture to the human eye. If basketball is an art form they are the guy that ***** on a canvas.

So yeah, I understand why Gopher fans dislike them.

What are their SOS on KenPom?

And dropping

Oh no, he might only finish 16th all-time instead of 8th. Does that somehow change the fact that saying he might get hot once every ten games is an incredibly stupid and factually incorrect thing to say?

Atleast you are admitting the patented Fran regression exists.

Iowa has the same number of Q1 wins as Iowa State, more Q2 wins, and has played a more difficult strength of schedule. If you think Iowa “has work to do”, then so too does Iowa State. Just because you don’t think wins against Nebraska or Ohio State should count for anything, that does not mean the committee views things the same way.
More difficult schedule? The NCAA disagrees. This is from ncaa.org site. You will notice ISU SOS is 34, Iowa is 92. Also ISU has 4 Q1 wins, Iowa has 3

Figured I'd check in on Penn State. They haven't even hit the midway point on their 17 straight loss streak that Kenpom is predicting.

Cool. Despite all those losses, they’re still better than the two worst teams in the Big XII. Man, how bad must Oklahoma State and West Virginia be?

The NCAA website only had this information available as of January 25th when I made my original post, so someone else on Iowa State’s schedule must have jumped into Q1 status (because they only had 2 prior to the Ole Miss game yesterday). That doesn’t reallly change my post much though; Iowa has 1 fewer Q1 win and 4 more Q2 wins. Iowa still has much more “quality wins” than Iowa State does. I’ve already stated several times that I was using KenPom for SOS.
