Benji is just like all of these other losers. Say they have this great job, or in this case prestigious grad school, but are dumber than a box of rocks.

Ah yes, the classic “I don’t like your opinion but am not able to refute it with any counter evidence, so I am going to call you stupid” move. Nice.

Why do you try to play into my comments? You have nothing to prove to me.

Iowa fans/graduates are probably more likely to move out of state than Iowa State fans/graduates, so that makes sense to me.
An argument can probably be made for graduates since a good portion of Iowa's graduates originated from out of state so in addition to the ones that leave for jobs there are a good portion who "go back home". ISU could make a pretty good case for that as well, though. As far as fans, I am calling bull **** on that one. For decades Iowa cultivated a huge bandwagon fan base of locals who never went to college. To be clear, I am not saying that is a bad thing; fans - alumni or not - buy tickets and swag and make donations. But the majority of them are staying right where they are.

Has anyone taken into consideration that Ames is 20 minutes from Ankney, 30 minutes from DSM/ waukee and 40 min from west des moines? A lot more population closer to ames than there is to Iowa CIty. So days like today when roads are not great and schools are being let out early because of it people within a hour radius are more likely to go to games than fans that need to drive 2+ hours

I would refer you back a few pages for several well informed responses to this absurd notion.

LOL. Wow.

That's an easy claim when a large portion of your students/alumni came from Illinois. Of course they move back to Chicago after graduation.

The fans comment is a joke, as many of them didn't move away, otherwise there should be more ISU fans in the state over Iowa.

At some point from a PR perspective don't you rather the seats go empty than publicly embarrass yourself like this? It's so desperate it's gone from funny to sad. Let's publicize our fans lack of support on every platform we can!

This has been discussed. CR is only about half an hour away and there is a greater proportion of Hawkeyes in CR than there are Cyclones in Ankeny/Des Moines/Waukee. There are also more people in Iowa City/Coralville than there are in Ames.

Paper the house by giving tickets to kids in the children's hospital or the Ronald McDonald House rather than just waving at them.

This post really opened my eyes. Thank you.
